New Atopic Dermatitis Treatment
Chester Valley Pharmaceuticals has introduced its new
prescription-only Atopiclair, a non-steroidal cream for the chronic symptoms of mild to moderate atopic dermatitis. According to the company, Atopiclair is proven to safely calm, restore, and protect skin, and has been clinically shown to significantly improve the eczema area and severity index (p=0.024) and to improve skin-barrier function as measured by a significant reduction in transepidermal water loss (TEWL) vs. control (p=0.02). Eye Gel for Decreasing Fine Lines and More
Vasseur Skincare has introduced a new eye gel, which is designed to combat wrinkles and puffiness. Eye Q, which includes anti-aging ingredients such as CoQ 10, Idebenone, alpha lipoic acid and DMAE, is light enough to wear under makeup.
According to Vasseur Skincare, “Eye Q also uses GABA (gama amino butyric acid), an amino acid, to freeze muscle movement and chamomile to tighten and lighten crow’s feet and dark circles. Small molecules (1/10 the size of traditional creams and gels) allow Eye Q to quickly penetrate the skin.”
In addition, Eye Q firms the skin as it evaporates and provides an instant cooling effect to refresh the eye area and reduce puffiness.
For more information about Eye Q, call (858) 538-4558 or log onto www.vasseurskin.com. (10% of all sales from Eye Q will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation to support breast cancer research and awareness efforts.)

Three New Lasers
WaveLight Laser introduced three FDA-approved aesthetic lasers to the U.S. market during the 63rd Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Dermatology.
The Sinon Q-Switched ruby laser has a wavelength of 694 nm and is used for removal of tattoos and pigmented skin lesions, and for hair removal in patients with skin types 1 and II.
The Mydon Nd:YAG long-pulsed laser has a wavelength of 1064 nm that can be used for removal of leg veins, hemangiomas and telangiectasias. It can also be used for hair removal in darker-skinned individuals and for treatment of wrinkles.
The Arion long-pulsed alexandrite laser has a wavelength of 755 nm and is designed for removal of hair in skin types I through IV, and superficial blood vessels.
All WaveLight lasers are designed against a uniform platform so physicians can easily switch between laser systems. The uniform design also offers advantages in production and maintenance, according to the company.
