    UV phototherapy in the office is an effective psoriasis treatment. Tanning beds aren’t...or are they? Controlled clinical trials are a good way to learn about the efficacy of medicines, but sometimes they seem like overkill. The efficacy and safety of many treatments are completely self-evident. Or at least they seem to be.

    Psoriasis Patients More Prone To Depression, Anxiety, Suicide

    According to findings published in a recent Archives of Dermatology, those with psoriasis are more likely to be anxious, depressed and even suicidal.

    These conclusions were reached by Shanu Kohli Kurd, MD, MSCE, MHS, and a team of researchers at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, who examined data from electronic medical records in the UK from 1987 to 2002, including 146,042 patients with mild psoriasis and 3,956 patients with severe psoriasis.
